How Botox Works
BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.
BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the skin’s surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WITH TREATMENT?
You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours for moderate to severe frown lines, with results lasting up to 4 months. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a technique-sensitive treatment. You should not lose the ability to show expression. Treatment requires minimal downtime or recovery; it’s often called a lunchtime procedure. You’ll be able to go about your normal routine immediately after you leave the clinic office.
JUVÉDERM® is the #1 selling collection of hyaluronic acid fillers in the US. Each product in the JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers adds volume to a different area of the face to lift cheeks, smooth parentheses (smile) lines, or plump the lips. The results are natural looking and long lasting.
What is JUVÉDERM®made from?
The JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers is made from hyaluronic acid (HA). What’s interesting about HA is that it’s a natural substance in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume. Each product in the JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers is made from a modified form of HA.
What should you expect?
Your specialist administers the treatment during a brief office visit. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC and JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC contain lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during treatment. If you’re still concerned about treatment discomfort, your specialist will administer additional anesthetic for you.
How long does it last? For lips and smile lines up to 1 year. And for cheeks up to 2 years. Results may vary.

Used for over four years in Canada (where it is also manufactured), VERSA received its FDA approval for use in the United States in 2017. Since its initial release, over 2 million syringes of VERSA have been used worldwide with no reports of adverse events reported.
How is VERSA™ different than other HA dermal fillers on the market?
The key factor that seems to make VERSA different than other HA fillers, like Allergan’s Juvederm, is its nearly non-existent post-injection swelling. VERSA has been shown to produce 24% less swelling than competing fillers. Injection specialists are loving this quality because it makes volume correction more precise and balanced, as they do not need to account for what is skin swelling and what is the actual product, especially when it comes to delicate areas like the under eye area.
